UJS Alumni

Your support can transform our community

““Working with courageous and creative campus leaders showed me our community at its finest – open, optimistic and strengthening diverse Jewish life and improving British society. It inspired my leadership with Limmud, the Board of Deputies, World Jewish Relief and the United Synagogue. UJS demonstrates and develops leadership for our community. We can show leadership and provide for those coming after us.””

Richard Verber (UJS Programmes & Leadership Training Director 2008-2012)

““I had the privilege of supporting UJS as a campus activist, then as a team member and more recently as a trustee.  UJS supports young Jews as advocates for Israel, champions of peace and dialogue, and campaigners against antisemitism. Support for UJS today is an investment in a more vibrant and dynamic British Jewish Community in the years to come.””

Mitchell Simmons (UJS Campaigns Director 2005-2007)

““UJS shaped and defined who I am and gave me unprecedented and unique opportunities to grow and develop. Working with and for passionate and proud Jewish students and J-Soc volunteers was a privilege. Representing Jewish students to Prime Ministers, Faith Leaders and throughout the university sector, I recognised what UJS did for me and my peers. Now it’s about what I can do for UJS.””

Ella Rose (UJS President 2014-2015)

Why join the UJS family?

LEADING

We are very proud of our many alumni going on to succeed personally and professionally, whilst continuing to demonstrate leadership within the Jewish community and make an impactful contribution to wider British Society.

The introduction of our UJS Alumni programme is seeking your support and leadership once again. Whether it is sharing your stories, connecting with current students, dedicating time and expertise to UJS’ work, donating much needed funds – or all of the above – we are hoping that by growing our alumni network we can further support campus leaders and strengthen our community and our country.

With your support UJS can be student led and former student inspired.

DEFENDING

For UJS to secure and sustain our peer led representative union, we need your support. Protect and promote the values at the heart of UJS that you played a massive part in during your time on campus.

Maybe you now work or volunteer combating hate crime or hostility towards Israel, and have ideas and energy to assist our activists? Perhaps you’re keen to fund informed and intelligent approaches to Israel that secure support of our self-determination?

Or you remember fondly the chutzpah we bring to campus, and you can offer expertise or resources for projects such as J.E.W. (Jewish Experience Week) or our interfaith projects .

ENRICHING

Hopefully your time on campus was filled with love, laughter and learning; learning that enriched and expanded your proud and passionate Jewish life; and learning that enabled you to play a positive and productive part in wider society.

Through our programmes, campaigns and opportunities UJS and Jewish students are offering diverse and dynamic programmes that celebrate the variety and vibrancy of Jewish life. With our interfaith, social action, holocaust education and Israel campaigns, we continue to engage tens of thousands of students from all backgrounds as we create confident and cohesive communities.

Please consider contributing your time, skills or funds to keep us enriching our society for the next 100 years.
