Dan Rafaeli - J-Soc Officer

Team_header_7.jpg

My name is Daniel Rafaeli and I am on a placement year as a J-Soc Officer with a focus on Interfaith, as part of my degree in Geography and Business Management at the University of Leeds.

I was born in Jerusalem and lived there until I was five, when my family moved to Maryland, USA. After living in Maryland for seven years, my family thought it would be a good idea to move to a new country again, so here I am. Since moving to England, I’ve experienced quite a diverse Jewish education, having studied at Immanuel College, King Solomon High School, and then JCOSS for sixth form. Through this, I have learned to appreciate the strength that comes with the diversity of our community.

At Leeds I was on the J-Soc committee as a Publicity Officer, and was very involved in Jewish life on campus, participating in a range of programmes with various campus providers - anything Jewish related, you will find me there! My favourite Jewish Nigun (song) is Am Israel Chai.

Outside of J-Soc, I am interested in public speaking, football, travelling and volunteering. My colleagues are trying to make me a tad more cultured, so by the end of the year, you might be able to add Museum Crawls to my list of hobbies.
