York JSOC:

Traditionally a comparatively small jewish society, York Jsoc is a friendly and welcoming society for all types of Jewish student. We are an active J-Soc with strong links to other students in the Yorkshire region, as well as our own dinners and events. We currently have a Hillel House with a kosher kitchen and common room..

York is also only 30 minutes by train away from Leeds, meaning there are always opportunities to partner with a larger community. We regularly hold bagel lunches or 'Nosh and knowledges' and Friday night dinner. Other events include film screenings, educational talks, festival experiences amongst other things. We also took part in Mitzvah Day this year by collecting tins of food for the homeless.

The nearest synagogues are in Leeds (Orthodox and Reform), which is a 20-25 minute train ride away.
