Sheffield JSOC:
The Jewish Society is open to all students to meet up with other Jewish students or just to experience what Judaism has to offer. We are a society that provides Jewish experiences for students at both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. We arrange for (kosher) Friday Night dinners to be available to students every week, with the society hosting our own meal twice per month.
We also arrange social and educational events at various times throughout the year. Other events include festival experiences, barbecues and educational events.
We have a UJS student chaplain based in Leeds who regularly visits the JSOC to offer kosher food, educational sessions and support for Jewish students throughout the Yorkshire area. Our Hillel House is residential for with two kosher kitchen, and provides a great communal place for JSOC events!
We are a cross-communal JSOC that is open to all types of Jewish student.
