Juefa Cup 2009 - A Great Success!

Building on the success of last year's event, it has now become the biggest student national 5-a-side tournament in the country.

This year saw the introduction of a women's league which was won by the UJS office team -- 'The Pretty Committee' -- star striker Emma Rickman scoring six goals and walking away with the golden boot.

The men's tournament saw a real increase in quality with finalists Joelton Athletic narrowly beating Spurs Boys 2-1 in the final. The winners will be off to Spain to enjoy watching Real Madrid play a game at the Bernabeu.

Event organiser Josh Colman said, "It was fantastic to see such a huge turnout even on the day Liverpool were playing Man United. Over 70% of the players weren't previously J-Soc members so it's great UJS is offering Jewish students an alternative way to get involved."
