It is your responsibility to nominate your friends and colleagues. The UJS Awards Panel will select a shortlist from the nominees and this will be published online. The UJS Student Awards Ceremony will be held in London on Sunday, March 21, 2010 and is by invitation only. UJS is seeking nominees for 6 awards:
Education Award, sponsored by the United Jewish Israel Appeal (UJIA). This will be awarded for the most innovative Jewish educational programme. The winner will travel with the UJIA Executive to visit some of the UJIA's key projects in northern Israel.
Social Action Award, sponsored by World Jewish Relief (WJR): This goes to the best community or campus-based social action project. The winner will travel with the WJR Chief Executive to visit one of their key projects in the former Soviet Union.
Campaigns Award, for the most effective campaign. The winner will travel to an international conference in Washington DC.
Events Award, sponsored by Israel Connect. This award is for the most innovative Jewish student event. The winner will travel to an Israel Connect European Leaders' weekend from a choice of five European destinations.
Developing J-Soc of the Year Award, for the small or medium-sized J-Soc that has shown the most progress over the last 12 months. Your National Development Officer is responsible for nominating you -- make sure you impress on them the reasons why your J-Soc should win! The entire committee will win a prize; last year's winners were rewarded with a night out at a top London show.
The Alan Senitt Award, sponsored by UJS Hillel. The Alan Senitt Award is reserved for an outstanding individual who throughout their time at university has made an ongoing and significant contribution to Jewish student life on campus. Please see the attached nominations form and begin to nominate your friends and colleagues for awards.
There is no limit to how many awards an individual can nominate or be nominated.
Good luck!
