The UJS President is someone who is elected annually by Jewish students to represent their voices within the community, universities, colleges and wider society.

The President is responsible for setting the direction and strategy of UJS, and appoints a staff team to run UJS each year.

This is a unique opportunity, and competition - as always - will be fierce.

 Important information:

 • UJS President is a paid, full time position for a fixed term of one year (running from June 2012 to June 2013).

 • Candidates for this position must be in their final year of study, or able to take a sabbatical year from their studies.

• Candidates must be available to attend the candidates meeting on Sunday 30th October and Presidential road-show dates on November 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th 2011.

 • Eligible candidates must be a full Student Member of UJS (i.e. a member of an affiliated Jewish Society).

• The election for UJS President will be conducted according to the rules set out in the Articles of Governance and Elections Byelaws.

 • Money should not prevent anybody standing for UJS President. Therefore, a budget is provided by UJS for legitimate campaign expenses incurred by candidates.

Any queries about any aspect should be directed to the Returning Officer at ujs@ujs.org.uk
