We felt that 100 students can achieve something quite spectacular. So we set Nottingham J-Soc a challenge. Well, to be more precise we set 100 students a challenge. The challenge to raise £100 each by the 1st February. It is the largest Jewish Society fundraiser ever, and is part of Nottingham's newly launched fundraising initiative, F-scheme.
Set up by Dan Clyne and Sarah Jayne Graham, F-scheme helps students fundraise on their campuses. F-scheme has partnered with 6 charities with the dual aim of getting Nottingham J-Soc members to take part in the charity's fundraising events and providing the support and encouragement to students to run their own fundraising events.
With the tagline 'do you give an F about Fundraising', F-scheme is attracting students in a fun, creative and innovative way, empowering students to think up bold and dynamic charity ideas.
100 for 100 is the first of many fundraisers soon to take place at the University of Nottingham. The aim is simple; we want 100 students to collect £100 each in order to raise the unprecedented £10,000 for a JSoc fundraiser. The money will be split between eight fantastic charities; Tzedek, Save a Childs Heart, Aegis, Age UK, One Family, Tikva, Chaplaincy and UJS; all of which our J-Soc members have an affiliation to.
But of course, it doesn't end there...
On the 1st February, after raising £100, participants of 100 for 100 will come together for an epic social event, a game of co-ordination, stamina and perseverance - the largest game of Twister - with the winner winning some spectacular prizes, as will the person who raises the most money.
The night promises to be lots of fun, with plenty of food and alcohol and other surprises. But the question remains... So Nottingham students, be creative, dig deep, and have fun raising your £100. Be proud that we are going to make J-Soc fundraising history, proving that we students do give an F about Fundraising and that we care about the causes that our community takes pride in supporting.
We look forward to seeing you on the 1st February. Good luck! B'Hatzlacha!
