UJS policy has been decided by students for students

The UJS Conference 2011 took place in Leeds this Sunday 4 December 2011.

The following ideas were submitted and debated. Below are the results of all the ideas that were voted on throughout the day. Following a consultation with the National Council in the new year, the UJS Team will make the steps necessary for the implementation of these ideas.

UJS policy has been decided by students for students

Reported in the order of their discussion:

CO1a falls: Amendment to the two-state solution idea

CO1 passes: Reaffirm a commitment for the two state solution

CO3 passes: Tikun OIam in UJS

CO2 falls: Supporting the Progressive Israel we know and educate on the J-14 Movement.

UJ4 passes: UJS should be governed by a proper national council

UJ3 passes: Fair Representation and equality

UJ1 falls: All Jsocs should endeavour to run their committees on a academic yearly cycle.

UJ6 passes: Jewish students need a better understanding of the work of the UJS Tzevet.

UJ5 passes: UJS needs to think about how they treat ex committee members

UJ2 falls: Complete autonomy for JSoc Campaigns

UJ7 falls: More inter JSOC sport competitions other than JUEFA Cup.

UJ8 passes: £1 donation on every UJS/JSoc- ticket.

CA1a passes: Free from hate

CA1 with amendment CA1a passes: No platform policy against racists and fascists.

CA2 with additional amendment to "condemn" passes- UJS policy on Fraternities.

CA3 passes- Est a fund for UJS to provide education/research grants
