This is my second blog; I know you have been on tenterhooks since I first graced this website, and felt it was only fair to inform you of the goings-on at UJS.

These past few weeks have been wildly busy. I attended my first freshers fair at Oxford Brookes last Tuesday, which was illuminating - they have a small but fun Jewish Society. The next day was Queen Mary, University of London, which has a vibrant Jewish community. Wednesday night was a mad dash up to Birmingham, with a nice early start to set up the Jsoc stall. The Birmingham Exec were wonderful and committed, the signups rapid and numerous! Friday meant the end of my travels for that week, so I trundled back down to the leafy suburbs of North London to prepare for my Yom Kippur penitence.

So what else has been going on? We are in the midst of restarting BaGeLs, the Jewish gay, lesbian and bisexual network at university. We are currently looking for BaGeLs co-ordinators for campuses around the country, so if you want to get involved, it would be great for you to drop me an email. A webpage on the UJS website is on its way, so watch the space!

What else, what else. This week is London week! LSE and UCL have their freshers fairs, so if you see me out and about and fancy a chat then drag me away from the stall.

For any freshers out there - I hope that your first few weeks have been great. Please remember - if you see anything that concerns you, or you feel you want to get involved with UJS Campaigns, please let us know.

Until next time.

Forward comrades,

Mark
