Another interesting week has gone by in the life of a National Development Officer living in Birmingham, and another great performance by the boys in blue and white has done me proud. Thursday and Friday involved helping out at the Birmingham fresher's fair which was extremely successful.  Whilst walking around I was approached by the Fetish society who tried to encourage me to sign up. After hearing the array of events they put on, and then explaining I was no longer a student I was able to return back to the J-Soc stall.

I have attempted to pick up some good freebees at on my travels but I am yet to pick up anything of significant or great value. I am still hopeful that Bristol/Bath/Warwick may be my last resort.

I attended the first Friday night dinner in Birmingham which brought in over 215 people and introduced myself to everyone. It was great to meet the new fresher's and see so many keen people who are already interested in getting involved with J-Soc. It was also pleasing to hear people are reading my blog and I hope throughout the year more of you do read up on what I have been up to.

On Yom Kippur for the last two services (Mincha and Ne'ila) all the students walked back with Rabbi Fishel and Esther back to Hillel where we ended the services there and broke the fast. I happened to break my fast on one of Esther's wonderful rich chocolate cake with icing. After complimenting her on how amazing this cake was she then explained the reason for the great taste was the Whisky in the cake!

On Tuesday I was off to Coventry. That morning on my way over there to my delight got a text saying that we had enough signatures to set up a new J-Soc with the student union! On the way back in Birmingham I was approached by a missionary who tried to challenge my beliefs, however to her dismay she was completely unsuccessful.

For all those Inbetweeners fans reading this, I have made a 'friend'... 'train friend'! On my travels I take the train from Selly Oak station over to Birmingham New Street. At Selly Oak station is a fellow Jew who works behind the counter. I always get my ticket from him and have a nice chat with him in the morning. So if anyone in Birmingham is reading this and you go to Selly Oak station, go by and say hello.

Until Spurs return from Bolton away you won't be hearing from me but hope you have a good weekend and happy Succot with hopefully no rain!

Adios amigos
