Job description - Langdon wants to increase its profile and footprint via the internet. A focused individual is required to look at revamping and subsequently promoting Langdon through its own website and other multi media avenues. This could comprise a variety of techniques including the devise of viral marketing campaigns through to improving Langdon's positioning on associated search engines. The position is on a full-time basis (we'll pay for your expenses) -- we are hoping this opportunity will last a year.
Langdon is unique - we are the only Jewish charity operating both a residential college and supported living in the UK for the 16+ age group, with mild to moderate learning difficulties. Set up in 1992 Langdon currently offers both educational and supported living facilities to over 85 young adults. Langdon College, based in Manchester, provides the only Jewish residential College aged 16+ offering a range of courses from basic life skills, NVQ accreditations, through to university degrees. Langdon Community has services in London and Manchester, providing a unique network of supported living accommodation enabling young adults to live in their own homes for life. Langdon Community ensures that residents benefit from its' employment programme. Everyone enjoys a full and active social life, giving them the same opportunities as their peers.
Langdon is looking to the future and with your help, will relaunch its website. We will also be relying on you to market our charity in innovitive and exciting ways. You will work as part of a small team and will receive full support and have personal feedback sessions and opportunities for informal discussions.
What can you expect to be doing?
Here's a list of responsibilities:
* Prepare compelling presentation packs for meetings, proposals and events
* Assist the online editor in the sourcing of visuals for the site, image editing and archiving of outdated website content.
* On a need basis, aid in the coordination of filming video for use on the site
Person requirements - A proactive, creative and tech-savvy graduate who is looking for an exciting internship, working within a small team. We are looking for a candidate who is dynamic, interacts well in a team setting and doesn't hesitate to take the initiative and come up with creative input.
Basic requirements:
Essential - A good understanding of multimedia and new technologies. Sound proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Adobe Photoshop.
