Liron, second from left, with Leeds J-Soc members at UJS Conference 2016
Having grown up in Southgate and Woodside Park and attended Wolfson Hillel and JFS, I graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in Politics (but spent most of my time involving myself in campaigning through J-Soc and other groups on campus and in the wider area.)
If I’m not working or campaigning, you can usually find me on the tennis court or at the Emirates Stadium. I’m a huge Arsenal and Sussex County Cricket Club fan and a keen follower of tennis, especially Roger Federer. Be in touch if you want my daily Wimbledon updates!
Leeds J-Soc and UJS formed a huge part of my university experience, from giving me a community on campus where I felt comfortable to hilarious and seminal experiences across my three years in Leeds. The support I received as a political activist on campus from my J-Soc and from UJS allowed me to engage in the projects that I wanted to; I wouldn’t be here today if not for that support and guidance all the way through my university life.
I had a wonderful past year as Campaigns Officer of UJS and am now enjoying the opportunities and challenges of being Campaigns Manager. I develop and set the political strategy for UJS, supporting the work on campus of our Campaigns Officers, building and strengthening relationships with Jewish communal and student movement organisations and facilitating Jewish students to engage in social and political activism on their campuses.
