Approx Jewish Students on campus - 60+
Sheffield Jewish Society is open to Jewish students of all denominations, backgrounds and modes of practice. We are peer led by a diverse team of dedicated committee members, and our aim is to support you as a Jewish person on campus, and have your religious, spitiual, cultural and social needs met.
We arrange for Kosher Friday Night dinners to be available to students every week, with the society hosting our own meal every two or three weeks. We also arrange social and educational events at various times throughout the year. There is usually at least one event per week! We have strong connections with other Jewish organisations who are at hand to help too..
As well as a social group, we also exist to help you in any way possible to be as Jewish as you want to be in Sheffield and aim to represent you at the University and Union when you feel your voice is not heard.
We like to think of ourselves as a big small Jsoc. Big enough to be active and well represented, but small enough that everyone can get to know everyone. We're a warm and friendly community.

Your favourite J-Soc event:
Our favourite event is Friday Night Dinner, it's great to get everyone together and have something to eat (and drink of course) at the end of the week. The friendly, welcoming and upbeat atmosphere makes this event even more special.
Kosher Food & Accommodation
There is a small selection of kosher food in Waitrose. The closest bigger Jewish community is Leeds, where kosher food can be ordered from. There is a small Hillel house which is maintained by the local Orthodox community. Speak to the Chaplain for more information.
