His father, Dennis Graham, is African American and a practicing Catholic from Memphis, Tennessee, who worked as a drummer. His mother, Sandra “Sandi” Graham is Ashkenazi Jewish Canadian and worked as an English teacher and florist. He attended a Jewish school and had a bar mitzvah at 13, as well as a second bar mitzvah in 2011 where he reaffirmed his commitment to his Jewish identity.
