UJS Response To Hamas' Atrocities In Israel

UJS' Response To The Atrocities Committed By Hamas In Israel (7-8th October 2023)

The events in Israel since Hamas’ violent and unprecedented incursion on Saturday morning are harrowing to see. UJS sends our thoughts, love, and prayers to the friends and families of the victims of this onslaught.

For so many Jewish students, our friends, siblings, cousins, uncles, and aunts in Israel are in danger. We share the deepest concerns of every Jewish student worrying for those whom they care about.

In an unprecedented attack on Israeli territory, Israeli towns and cities were attacked by land, air, and sea. Hamas terrorists have murdered, kidnapped, and held hostage Israeli civilians.

This is likely not the end, and we will see the casualties and death toll rising in Israel and in Gaza over coming days and weeks. We pray for a lasting peace.

We know that in times of conflict in the Middle East, there is an invariable rise in antisemitism in the UK. If any Jewish student is impacted by this, they can reach out to UJS via our dedicated welfare hotline at 020 7424 3288, any of our socials, or by contacting any member of the UJS team. If you are the victim of antisemitism, please report it to @cst_uk at 0800 032 3263. If the incident is ongoing or you are in immediate danger, always call 999.

We stand in unwavering solidarity with the people of Israel, diaspora Jewry, and all those affected.

עוֹשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם בִּמְרוֹמָיו הוּא יַעֲשֶׂה שָׁלוֹם עָלֵינוּ וְעַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל

May he who makes peace in high places make peace for us and for all Israel.
