Women & Gender Minorities

Jewish student spaces should be empowering and safe for all who identify as female or a gender minority, including cis women, trans women, and non-binary people. UJS Women+ exists to celebrate our strength, confront gender-based inequality, and ensure that all voices across the gender spectrum are included in shaping Jewish life on campus.

UJS Women's Network

This network is a dynamic, cross-communal initiative designed to empower Jewish women students across the UK and Ireland by connecting them with Jewish women professionals. The programme offers a blend of educational, leadership and networking opportunities aimed at fostering representation and long-term professional and leadership growth. This group is for 18+ womxn students who would like to network and for professional womxn who are keen to share their experience.

International Women's Day

International Women's Day is celebrated globally on March 8th every year. IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

Are you interested in running events on your campus for IWD? There are some great resources here. Contact Eve, the inclusion sabbatical officer for support and information!

Here are some reflections by the men and women of the UJS team about being a woman in the workplace, and how to be allies to our colleagues.
