Salford J-Soc aims to provide several activities across the academic year!!! Our range of events covers social, cultural, and educational programmes. We aim to carry out a number of activities including bagel lunches, special events on Jewish festivals and plenty more to keep you busy! Being part of the Salford J-soc allows you not only to know what is going on on Salford Campus, but also allows you to know what is happening on campuses around the North west and around the country!!.
Campus Notes
Salford is a stone’s throw away from Manchester- the beating heart of the North. Manchester is home to the second largest Jewish community in the UK which is located at a 20 minute walk away from campus. There are many Kosher restaurants and bakeries in Manchester. There are numerous shopping centres to keep you busy whilst you’re not studying!!!
Kosher Food
There are many kosher shops and delis, in the local area, which stock huge ranges of food, including meat, dairy, bakery and frozen. There are numerous shops located near to uni, with a Tesco extra a ten-minute walk from campus!! The supermarkets located in Prestwich and Cheetham Hill have kosher sections.
Local Synagogue Information
There are numerous synagogues in Manchester offering services both during the weekend and on Shabbat.
