Approx Jewish Students on campus - 100+

Hello, we’re the UCL JSOC. We’re the largest JSOC in London and the reason our university is sometimes known as JEW-CL!. We’re an incredibly diverse society, reflecting the incredible diversity of UCL itself. We have members from all of the world, not the just the country, from many different denominations of Judaism, each with their own traditions and ideas. And we make sure that each and every member is valued and appreciated.

We hold weekly lunches with a casual atmosphere and a variety of speakers. We also work closely with the JLE to bring an additional lunch and learn session to campus every week too. We hold a variety of parties and nights outs, from karaoke to formal balls. And we encourage members from other London JSOCs to visit our events, as we all part of one London Jewish family.

Kosher Food & Accommodation

UCL is situated excellently for any student that wants to keep kosher. There are:

Shops in the centre of London with kosher sections, such as the Waitrose in the Brunswick centre less than a 10 minutes walk from UCL.

Shops and restaurants in North-West London, around half an hours commute from campus. Search “Kosher Golders Green/Hendon” for more information.

Kosher meals being held at least twice a week on the UCL campus.

Friday Night Dinners held by both chaplaincy on either Great Portland Street or near Marble Arch, and Chabad on Euston Road. Ask a member about the famous FND Friday dinners. Feel open to ask any member of the committee and we will find you somewhere for a lovely Shabbat meal.

There are many kosher flatshares all over London as well as a Hillel House in Hendon
