Hi, I’m Amit! I’m 26 years old from Tel Aviv, and I recently completed my Master’s degree in International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
My journey to UJS began in 2024 during a study abroad programme at the University of Birmingham. While studying in the UK, I experienced firsthand the vital role that JSocs play in supporting Jewish students on campus and saw the incredible impact of the UJS Shlicha. Experiencing such a welcoming and vibrant community made a lasting impression on me, and after returning home to Israel, I realised I wanted to become a Shlicha myself to give back to the community that made my time in the UK so special.
For the year ahead, one of my main priorities is ensuring Israeli students on UK campuses feel integrated and supported within their local JSocs. I am also passionate about helping all students shape and deepen their connection to Israel in a thoughtful, meaningful way—wherever they stand on the issue.
Outside of work, I’m a big history enthusiast and a huge Twilight film fan! You’ll also usually find me going to the cinema, staying active with Pilates, swimming, or heading out for a hike—and I’m a massive lover of dogs of all kinds.
