Birmingham Jsoc hopes to have another great year of events and speakers and, of course, Friday Night Dinners; but due to a scam attack on our JSoc we are going to really struggle. Over the summer our society fell victim to a malicious and sophisticated scam that drained a significant portion of our funds; money we worked hard to raise for events, such as FNDs, outreach, and student support. It’s been a tough setback, but we’re determined not to let this setback define our Jewish students' experience. Despite our best efforts, alongside the help of the police and UJS, we were unable to recover the funds.
Although we have set up future safeguards, we need help to rebuild what we have lost and ensure our society can continue to thrive, which is why we're launching this fundraiser. Every donation, big or small, will help us:
- Recover from the financial hit
- Host inclusive events for students
- FNDs
- Ball
- Socials
- Support our members and community initiatives
As a JSoc we aim to provide the best Jewish experience on campus for all our members and really want to continue running our events. By donating, you will be able to be a part of our comeback story and allow us to contribute to Jewish students' university experience. We appreciate everything that you can give us. Let’s turn this moment of adversity into one of resilience and unity.
Donate today and help make a difference for Jewish students.
Every small bit helps.
We have secured matches for the first £2,000 we raise.
