Leo Saideman is the JSoc Development and National Projects Sabbatical Officer 26/27. He graduated from University of Leeds having completed an integrated Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
During his time at Leeds, Leo immersed himself in Jewish student life, taking on leadership roles with nearly every Jewish organisation on campus from leading the student minyan to running the Hillel House as the Warden. After being the chef (Shabbat Officer) on committee, he became passionate about his cooking, especially on a large scale, with aspirations of hopefully owning a food truck one day! Leo made sure to incorporate his Jewish identity into his wider student life such as dressing up as a chassid for the Otley Run (Leeds pub crawl).
Outside of work, Leo is an avid film and cinema lover and always happy to discuss his top 4 Letterboxd films with anyone! Additionally, he is interested in history and capable of listing the kings of England (thanks to Horrible Histories).
This year, Leo is excited to further strengthen the support UJS provides to JSocs, help develop ambitious national projects, and create a memorable opportunities and events for Jewish students across the UK and Ireland.
