Mitchell Simmons

Mitchell became a trustee of UJS in 2015 and helps to assist the Board and the Sabbatical team in matters relating to policy and public advocacy.   

Mitchell is Vice President Government Relations EMEA, for ViacomCBS. He is responsible for public policy across all ViacomCBS media brands including Channel 5, MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, as well as film studio Paramount Pictures.  He is a Director of the Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice which oversees the code for broadcast advertising, and he is involved with various initiatives within the creative industries to promote diversity and inclusion.

Mitchell was previously connected to UJS when he worked as a campaigns organiser for UJS. He worked on the issues of student radicalisation, antisemitism, and university governance.  He initiated new training programmes in campaigning, advocacy, public speaking and media relations for student activists.
