Paul Summerfield

Paul became Chair of the UJS Board in Autumn 2020. He also leads on the fundraising.

Paul is the development director at the world's oldest independent think tank on international defence and security - the Royal United Services for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI), based in Whitehall. 

He has previously worked at the Royal Society of Medicine, Barts and The London NHS Trust and the London School of Economics & Political Science, Jewish Care and for the human rights campaign group, the Student & Academic Campaign for Soviet Jews. 

Paul's association with UJS began when he was a student in Sheffield. He was elected on to the UJS National Executive.

He lives in North London with Francesca and has three children, Joshua, Gideon and Miriam. Paul swims regularly in the outdoor ponds on Hampstead Heath, enjoys reading (mainly newspapers), listening to Radio 4 and visiting the Yorkshire Dales.
