President's Blog - A Fresh Start

As I’ve mentioned in my previous blogs, this year will be far from ordinary. However, I don’t see the current situation we find ourselves in as a barrier to a thriving Jewish experience at university

With UJS commencing its second century of leading, defending, and enriching Jewish life on campus, we are looking forward to this year being a unique opportunity for us to come together as a collective and overhaul the way we engage with you, whether that be on social media, or with how we provide for Jewish students.

As a proudly peer-led organisation, we have already been meeting with some of our incredible activists and J-Soc Presidents who are our ‘ear to the ground’, telling us what Jewish students think and want from us. We’re helping them plan the best year we can!

Despite its difference to all other years, this year, I’m most looking forward to seeing Jewish students be more visible than ever in campaigning on issues that matter to YOU, as well as hosting engaging speakers, and engaging with fellow Jewish students and the wider student population.

Entering the busy fresher’s period, I want take the opportunity once again to wish a huge mazel tov to our incoming freshers! We can’t wait to see you all on campus, for this unusual but inevitably exciting year of more Jewish students doing more Jewish things.

In the meantime, and as your national Union, we want to hear from you! Get in touch with me at [email protected]
