Approx Jewish Students on campus - 80+
The UEA JSoc is a growing, warm and friendly community open to all students at UEA. As the winners of 'JSoc of the Year' 2024/25, UEA JSoc runs frequent Friday night dinners, drinking socials, fun activities, collabs with other societies and celebrates the Jewish festivals together! They ensure that Jewish students have a safe space on campus and are more than happy to provide any support or advise that you may need.

What is your favourite Jsoc event that you’ve attended?
I really enjoyed the barbeque that we had at the end of the summer term. We booked a barbeque by the UEA lake, the sun was shining, and lots of people came. Several people brought different food and drinks, including some homemade Israeli salad (one of my fave things about Jsoc events…), and we all had a good laugh.
Is kosher food or accommodation available at the UEA?
Kosher accommodation isn’t, but there are some places to buy kosher food. Other than the popular brands that carry a kosher stamp, the Earlham Waitrose, a short walk from campus, sells specialist kosher foods. It’s where I got an obscene amount of matzo and pickles for Pesach, so much that I’m pretty much set for next year. Additionally, you can order loads of kosher food from Ocado!
