We are delighted to invite Jewish students to march at the AJEX Remembrance Parade & Ceremony on Sunday 20th November. We are gathering at Horse Guards Parade from 1pm with final form up at 1.45pm.
This year our theme is ‘connection’ especially connecting the generations. It would be wonderful to have more students march in the parade showing the Baton of Remembrance being passed through the generations - honouring and Remembering the thousands of Jewish Servicemen and Women who served and fought for our freedom. This is a key opportunity to show our pride in their service and in our community’s contribution to the society around us. At the Ceremony we will be marking the 80th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid and the Second battle of El Alamein, and the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War.
Remembrance this November is especially poignant giving the passing of the Late HM Queen Elizabeth II who we have mourned as a nation. At this special event we will honour and Remember all she did as Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces during her 70 year reign.
