Zak Shutkever - Masa Events and Recruitment Coordinator

Being born in the UK's capital of Jewish life, Birmingham, I've been involved in Jewish campus life since studying Law at Nottingham Trent University. Previous to working at Masa, where I'm responsible for UK-based events and recruitment, I worked at Alpha Epsilon Pi, where I oversaw AEPi chapters outside of North America.

In my spare time, I enjoy discussing Middle Eastern politics with my dog/soulmate Woody. I am an avid fan of Aston Villa FC and music plays a big part in my life: growing up in the home of reggae band sensation UB40 honed my love of music. My favourite artist is Bob Marley, in particular 'Redemption Song', which can be frequently heard in my car as I travel around the country to events on behalf of Masa and UJS.

About UJS

We are the voice of over 8,500 Jewish students, spanning 60 Jewish Societies (J-Socs) on campuses across the UK and Ireland. We are traditional, progressive, cultural and spiritual; we come from the left, centre and right and can be found across religious and political spectrums.

Together we create and deliver powerful campaigns; fighting prejudice, advancing inclusion, and inspiring education and action on the issues that matter to us.
