Hi, I’m Maya, a third-year Geography student at the University of Birmingham. My UJS journey began in 2024/25 when I joined the UJS Leadership Fellowship and was elected Chair of Birmingham JSoc. Since then, UJS has played a huge part in shaping my university experience, giving me the opportunity to build community, get involved in advocacy and connect with Jewish students across the UK and beyond.
I’m particularly passionate about the work JSocs and Jewish student unions do to create vibrant communities, as well as the role we can play in the wider Jewish community and internationally. I’m excited to continue this journey as a member of the 2026/27 National Council, representing Jewish students across the UK and Ireland and helping make sure their voices are heard. I can’t wait for the year ahead!
