Our People

Nina Freedman

Hi everyone, my name is Nina! I am your UJS President for 2021-22. I have just graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in English.

My UJS journey began even before I started university, when I went on the UJS freshers’ trip to learn about campus leadership. When I got to Bristol, I became JSoc President and had an amazing time representing all of Bristol’s Jewish students. UJS has been such a formative part of my university experience, and I was inspired to run to be President in order to continue its amazing work and inspire the next generation of Jewish students.

I am incredibly excited to represent all UJS’ 8,500 Jewish students and to have the opportunity to contribute to its rich and exciting legacy. This year will be filled with amazing programming and engaging events and I can’t wait to connect with as many students as possible! If you have any ideas for projects, or just want to chat, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me!

A bit more about me: I love reading and you can always catch me with my nose in a book. I am also a massive RuPaul’s Drag Race fan and can recreate all the iconic lip-syncs. My biggest passion though (apart from representing Jewish students) has to be Taylor Swift!

Campus sessions I can run:

Women in leadership available in person and on Zoom

Join me for a discussion about the challenges facing women in leadership in 2021. Let’s think about how to empower more women to take up leadership roles and the unique challenges we face in the Jewish community.
