When I started at the University of Bristol in 2014, I remember saying to my sister that when it came to J-Soc, I wasn’t sure. Either I would do nothing, or I would do everything. 5 years, 3 Summits, 4 UJS Conferences, 5 NUS Conferences, and at least 50 UJS lanyards later, it’s quite clear which one I chose.

UJS have taken the difficult decision to cancel the first official London event on Sunday (30th June) to celebrate UJS 100. We have had a huge amount of interest in our centenary celebrations, but unfortunately many of our alumni are unavailable on that date and therefore we’ve taken the decision to focus our limited resources on creating wider and further reaching events for UJS 100. We will still be holding many events throughout the year, including an exciting exhibition launch on September 18th at JW3 – put the date in your diary! Please also note the event in Israel continues as planned!

Happy Birthday Israel!
Sitting here writing this, while scrolling through headline after headline, looking at picture after picture and video after video of what is happening back home, it’s scary (petrifying even) but also empowering to an extent. Jews have always faced some sort of persecution or attack and yet we are still here, and not only are we here but we are celebrating 71 years of Independence.
